Sirsa girls outperform boys in state board Class XII examinations

The Haryana Board of School Education (HBSE), Bhiwani, announced the results for the Class XII examinations on Tuesday. This year, the overall pass percentage of Sirsa district was 85.97 per cent, which is 1.5 per cent lower than last year’s 87.47 per cent. Out of 9,090 students who appeared for the exam, 7,815 passed, 969 students got compartments, while 306 failed in the examination. Despite the slight drop in results, girls performed better than boys, making the district proud with their hard work and dedication. At the state level, Sirsa ranked 17th in Haryana. Jind district secured the first position, while Nuh came last.

There were technical issues when the results were released, and for almost two hours, students and teachers faced problems checking them online. The official website showed frequent errors, but students kept refreshing and trying throughout the day, eagerly waiting to see their scores.

Several government and private schools in Sirsa performed well and achieved 100 per cent results. Government Senior Secondary School (GSSS), Jogiwala, was one of the top-performing schools.

Government Girls Senior Secondary School, Nathusari Kalan, also achieved a 100 per cent result in Class 12. Block Education Officer Satveer Singh congratulated the students, teachers and parents. Out of 51 students in Science and Arts, 24 students from rural areas made it to the merit list. Dimple scored 95.2 per cent, Anjani got 92.4 per cent, Bhawna scored 446 marks while Cheshta got 443 marks.

In the CBSE results for the 2024–2025 session, students of St Xavier’s Senior Secondary School, Sirsa, also performed brilliantly. Vernika scored 95.2 per cent in the science stream, Arpita Jain secured 97.4 per cent in commerce and Sara scored 91.8 per cent in arts, bringing pride to the school and their parents. Another school that delivered an excellent performance was The Sirsa School. The school achieved a 100 per cent result this year. More than 30 per cent of students secured positions in the merit category, and 15 students scored above 90 per cent, setting new records.

In the arts stream, Kannu scored 96 per cent, Khushleen 95.6 per cent, and Japji 95.4 per cent. In commerce, Priyanshi Sharma topped, followed by Virendra Singla with 90 per cent, Aditya Jakhar with 83.2 per cent, and Yashnoor Kaur with 79.4 per cent. In science, Ashwin scored the highest in the school with 97.8 per cent, Adik got 96 per cent, and Rakshit scored 94.8 per cent. Overall, Ashwin stood first, Adik and Kannu shared second place with 96 per cent, and Khushleen came third with 95.6 per cent.
