'Their Only Good News Was That Virat Kohli Retired': TV Anchor Brutally Trolls Pakistan Amid Border Tensions With India; Video
Famous TV Anchor Palki Sharma Upadhyay brutally trolled Pakistan amid border tensions with India by drawing a reference of Virat Kohli's Test retirement. Keeping in mind, Kohli has a sensational ODI and T20 record against Pakistan, Upadhayay stated that the only good news the nation has received recently is the veteran batter's retirement.
Although the Delhi-born cricketer never played a Test against Pakistan, he averages 59.84 in 29 ODIs against Pakistan alongside 778 runs. Kohli's best score of 183 in ODIs also came against the Asian Giants during the 2012 Asia Cup. The 36-year-old's average zooms to 70.28 in 11 T20Is against Pakistan and produced one of the greatest knocks during the T20 World Cup 2022 fixture.
While briefing about the situation at the border, Palki said:
"Move over wonderland, there is a new fairytale in town. General Munir in Delulu land. His air defence is as strong as Pakistan cricket team's top-order. His fighter jets as lethal as their captain's post-match press conferences. Yet, there are celebrations in the country. What happened is no victory for Pakistan. Their only good news was that Virat Kohli retired. That's one less hundred for them to suffer."
Virat Kohli scored his most recent ODI hundred against Pakistan
Meanwhile, Kohli's most recent ODI hundred also came against Pakistan during the Champions Trophy 2025 game as he made an unbeaten 100 off 111 deliveries to help India chase down 242 with six wickets to spare.
He played an integral role in helping India win the Champions Trophy, finishing the tournament with 218 runs in five matches at 54.50.
