Breaking: Security forces intensify search operations in Tral and Reasi as encounter with militants continues
Security forces had released a list of 14 terrorists, out of which three were killed on May 13 in Shopian. Currently, an encounter is underway in Tral involving three other terrorists from the same list. Meanwhile, fresh intelligence has also prompted security operations in the Reasi district. Reports of suspicious activity have led the army to launch a search operation in Reasi as well. The Tral encounter is taking place in a densely populated residential area surrounded by hills. The militants are believed to be hiding inside houses in this hilly terrain near Shikargah, which connects to Pahalgam. This entire region is characterized by small houses, gardens, and narrow roads nestled at the foothills. The militants are using this challenging geography to their advantage. Similarly, Reasi lies beyond the Pir Panjal mountain range, bordering the Jammu region areas such as Doda and Bhaderwah. The security forces have initiated a thorough search operation here based on specific intelligence about militant presence. The new militant strategy shows they prefer to hide in difficult-to-access mountainous areas, possibly moving across these terrains to avoid capture. Security forces continue to intensify their operations in both Tral and Riasi to flush out the militants hiding in these challenging environments.
