IND vs ENG Test Series: A Rare Scene After 14 Years
The final match of Indian Premier League (IPL) 2025 has been rescheduled from May 25 to June 3. Shortly after the tournament concludes, Team India will depart for England to play a five-match Test series starting June 20.
The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) is expected to announce the squad soon, with fans eagerly awaiting the new lineup - especially since it will not include Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli, both of whom recently retired from Test cricket.
A Rare Scene After 14 Years
With Rohit Sharma retiring on May 7 and Virat Kohli following suit on May 12, India will be without its long-time stalwarts. R Ashwin, too, announced his retirement during the recent Border-Gavaskar Trophy. For the first time in 14 years, India will play a Test in England without Rohit, Kohli, or Ashwin.
The last time this happened was on August 18, 2011, during a Test at The Oval - a match India lost heavily.

End of an Era: Border-Gavaskar Trophy Was Their Last Series
The recent Border-Gavaskar Trophy against Australia turned out to be the final chapter for Rohit, Virat, and Ashwin in Test cricket. India lost the series, and none of the three had a major impact.
