Brutal! Chopped Legs, Head Found In Drain After 50-Year-Old Mercilessly Kills Man Over Land Dispute In Jabalpur
Jabalpur (Madhya Pradesh): A 50-year-old man, along with his son and son-in-law, murdered a 40-year-old man, chopped off his head and both of his hands & legs and dumped the body in a drain over a ‘parking’ dispute in Madhya Pradesh’s Jabalpur, as revealed by police on Thursday.
Jabalpur police have solved the gruesome murder case that was reported on Wednesday in Nandan Vihar, Trimurti Nagar under the Gohalpur police station area.
According to police, the deceased has been identified as 40-year-old Param Singh Gaur. Whereas, the three accused have been identified as Rakesh Kataria, his son Sohail (23), and son-in-law Rajveer (30).
All three accused have been arrested.
The case
The case came to light when residents reported a foul smell near a house behind Sanskar School in Trimurti Nagar.
Station in-charge Pratiksha Marko reached the spot with her team. The house owner, Vijay Agrawal, said his tenant Shailendra Sahu noticed something suspicious. When officials arrived, they found a body in 4 pieces dumped in a nearby drain.
The condition of the body was horrifying – the head was missing, both hands and legs were chopped off, the abdomen was slit open, and even the private parts were separated. The body had no clothes, but had tattoos on the hand that said ‘Manju Param’ and plastic bands on the wrist with ‘Mahakal’ and a ‘Trishul’ symbol.
Victim had been missing for days
Due to the serious nature of the case, Superintendent of Police Sampat Upadhyay ordered an investigation with the forensic team. During the post-mortem, a metal rod was found in the left leg of the victim, which helped in identification. Through the control room, all police stations were alerted. Soon, it was confirmed that Param Singh Gaur, a 40-year-old man from the Gorabazar area, had been missing for several days. His sister Yashoda Bai and brother-in-law Ratan Singh identified the body.
Accused wife died under suspicious circumstances
During the investigation, police discovered that the main accused, Rakesh, had an ongoing land dispute with Param Singh. They fought over parking rights on a piece of land in Kajrawara. Also, three months ago, Rakesh’s wife had died under suspicious circumstances after falling from a terrace. Rakesh suspected Param Singh’s involvement in her death.
Rakesh, along with his son Sohail and son-in-law Rajveer, planned the murder. On the day of the crime, they called Param Singh to their house, beat him with a bat, and then took him to the bathroom where they cut the body into pieces using a butcher's knife. They dumped the body parts in a swampy area to hide the crime.
According to Jabalpur Additional SP, police have arrested Rakesh, Sohail, and Rajveer. Based on their statements, the police have recovered the missing head, hands, and the murder weapons. A case has been registered under Section 103(1), 238 of the Bharatiya Nyay Sanhita (BNS) and further investigation is ongoing.
