50-Year-Old Man Stabs 23-Yr-Old Neighbor Over Longstanding Dispute In Nalasopara; Arrested
Palghar: A 50-year-old man allegedly stabbed his neighbor in Nalasopara East on Wednesday, leaving the 23-year-old victim with serious injuries. The incident, stemming from a longstanding dispute, occurred in Jadhav Pada, Dhaniv Baug. The victim, Abdul Rahim Shaikh, was rushed to a local hospital for treatment.
About The Case
According to the complaint filed with Pelhar Police Station, the accused, Jagannath Biharilal Tiwari, confronted Abdul Rahim Shaikh over a previous neighborhood dispute. The situation escalated quickly, with Tiwari verbally abusing Shaikh and then stabbing him in the abdomen with a knife.
Police reports also indicate that Tiwari threatened and attempted to assault Shaikh's wife, Prachi Sachin Chavan alias Raziya Abdul Rahim Shaikh (23), who was present during the altercation.
Pelhar Police immediately acted on the complaint and arrested Jagannath Tiwari on May 14, 2025. A case has been registered under IPC Sections 118(2) (abetment), 352 (assault), and related provisions.
Police have not yet disclosed the exact motive behind the attack. The victim remains under medical care, and his condition is currently reported to be stable. Police Sub-Inspector Yuvraj Chaudhary is leading the investigation, under the supervision of Senior Inspector Jitendra Vankoti of Pelhar Police Station.
