Adani Airports Terminates Celebi Agreement At Mumbai, Ahmedabad Airports
Adani Airport Holdings has terminated its ground handling concession agreements with Turkish firm Celebi Aviation at Mumbai’s Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj International Airport (CSMIA) and Ahmedabad’s Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel International Airport (SVPIA), effective immediately. The move follows the Indian government’s decision to revoke Celebi’s security clearance on national security grounds.
In a statement, Adani Airports said, “We have terminated the ground handling concession agreements with Celebi at Mumbai's Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj International Airport (CSMIA) and Ahmedabad's Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel International Airport (SVPIA)."
“Accordingly, Celebi has been directed to immediately hand over to us all ground handling facilities to ensure uninterrupted operations,” the firm added. The company assured that services would continue without disruption through new ground handling agencies. All existing Celebi employees at the two airports will be absorbed by the new agencies on their current terms and conditions.
“All existing employees of Celebi at CSMIA and SVPIA will be transferred to the new ground handling agencies on their existing terms and conditions of employment. Ground handling operations at our airports will remain unaffected. We are fully committed to upholding the highest standards of service and national interest,” said spokespersons for the two airports.
The termination comes amid rising diplomatic tensions between India and Turkey, following Ankara’s support for Pakistan after the Pahalgam terror attacks and India’s subsequent ‘Operation Sindoor’.

Partnership With Turkish Firm DragonPass
In a related move, Adani Airport Holdings also ended its partnership with Turkish firm DragonPass, which provided its members access to airport lounges at Adani-managed airports. “Our association with DragonPass, which provided access to airport lounges, has been terminated with immediate effect. DragonPass customers will no longer have access to lounges at Adani-managed airports. This change will have no impact on the airport lounge and travel experience for other customers,” the company said.
Meanwhile, on Thursday, the Ministry of Civil Aviation formally announced the revocation of Celebi Airport Services India Pvt Ltd’s security clearance, citing national security concerns.
