Cash is still king! Total currency in circulation at Rs 38.1 lakh crore; grows 2.4%

Digital payments are rising, but cash usage in India remains strong. Reserve Bank of India data shows currency in circulation is up. This increase is attributed to rural demand and good crop prices. Cash accounts for a significant portion of consumer spending. The cash economy has expanded alongside digital infrastructure. ATMs and bank branches have also increased.
