Ozone-GMAAA Meet: Junior Swimmers Rewrite 16 New Individual Records

Junior boys and girls captured the limelight by setting the pool on fire with record breaking performances as they shared eight new records on the first day and followed it by adding eight more individuals plus four relays on the final day of the Ozone – GMAAA Annual Open senior and lower age group meet held at Goregaon’s Ozone swimming pool.

The juniors feat this time was considered unique as they bettered last year’s performance by adding one more in the individual as well as four in the relays categories this time.

While the first day hero was G Kabidan, of Mulund Swimming Pool, who toppled last year’s Kiaan Kaple, of Otters Club’s with four new records - in 50m Back stroke 50m breast stroke, 50m butterfly and 50m free style events. However, the girls from CSMSS’ Gatha Pawar (3), Pahel Shah and Girija Pande took the cake too by sharing the day’s honours too. The final day belonged to boys in higher age groups as hosts Daksh Shah and Rivsansh Singh, Kavir Shewarmani (Khar Gym) and Tanish Redekar (PSP) were among the new record-breakers. And so too were girls, Anaahi Jain from Wadala SP (3) Ayra Gupta (CCI).
