'Saw Women Being Heckled': Robin Uthappa Slams RCB & CSK Fans For Their Unruly Behaviour Amid IPL 2025; Video

Former Indian cricketer Robin Uthappa has slammed the RCB and CSK fans for souring the rivalry between the two teams over the years. Uthappa recalled how RCB fans were mocking CSK fans outside the stadium after the win this year and some women was being heckled in the process.

The Royal Challengers Bengaluru have defeated the Chennai Super Kings twice in IPL 2025, notably winning at the Chepauk for the first time since 2008. Following the close win at the Chinnaswamy Stadium, fans of both teams were seen fighting with one another, turning violent.

Speaking to Jarrod Kimber on his YouTube Channel, Uthappa, who had played for both sides during his IPL tenure, said such unruly behaviour were totally uncalled for.

"It was pretty intense, Outside the stadium, they were mocking the team, the players of the team when the bus was leaving, that was one thing that I saw, which I thought was in bad taste. The other one that I saw were the fans fighting with each other. I saw women being heckled, which felt unsavory, to be very honest. We saw that even in Chennai last year, again, uncalled for. It's not on whatsoever."

"It's getting a little beyond sport which concerns me" - Robin Uthappa

The 39-year-old went on to recall how RCB fans mocked CSK by reminding them how the franchise was banned for a couple of years, elaborating:

"It has gotten pretty intense. They are holding up jerseys, white T-shirts marked with black lines, stating the two years that CSK were banned for. They have kind of written MS' number on it, and Thala under it, depicting that they were in jail for two years, or whatever. It's getting a little beyond sport which concerns me. Because at the end of the day, this is a sport."

Meanwhile, the Royal Challengers will qualify for the playoffs if they beat the Knight Riders on Saturday. CSK's playoff chances are already over, thanks to their disastrous campaign.
