Madhya Pradesh: Youth Stabbed To Death Over Love Triangle, One Held In Bhopal

Bhopal (Madhya Pradesh): A 22-year-old youth was murdered in Govindpura area late Wednesday night, in what police are calling a fatal fallout of a love triangle. The prime accused has been arrested, while his accomplice remains at large. The weapon used in the crime—a knife—has been recovered.

Govindpura police station in-charge Awadhesh Singh Tomar said the victim, Shivam Kalam, was stabbed in the thigh following a scuffle near Gautam Nagar. He was rushed to hospital but died due to excessive blood loss.

Investigations revealed that Shivam was attacked by Shiva Rajput and his aide, Mahi. Acting on a tip-off, police arrested Shiva on Saturday. During questioning, Shiva confessed to the crime and revealed the motive: Shivam was allegedly in a relationship with Puja Patel (name changed), who was previously Shiva's girlfriend.

According to police, Puja lived in a rented building and was a friend of a girl whom Shivam considered his sister. Shivam often visited them and eventually got into a relationship with Puja. This enraged Shiva, who could not accept Puja’s new relationship.

On the night of the murder, Shivam had gone to meet Puja when Shiva and Mahi intercepted him. A confrontation ensued, and Shivam was stabbed. Police say the accused fled the scene immediately after the attack.

Further details revealed that Puja and Shiva both hail from Gadarwada. Puja is a BBA student, while Shiva is pursuing a diploma course. Shivam, a Class 12 dropout from Narmadapuram, was living with his elder brother in Arera Colony at the time of the incident.
