Nuh man held on charge of spying for Pakistan

In a major breakthrough, the Nuh police have arrested a man in Rajaka village of Nuh following a tip-off from the Central investigative agencies for allegedly spying for Pakistan. The accused allegedly shared information through Danish, an employee posted at the High Commission of Pakistan in Delhi. An FIR was registered under relevant sections of the BNS and other sections related to treason at the Nagina police station in Nuh.

The accused, identified as Arman, a resident of Rajak village, used to send the country’s military activities to Pakistan through WhatsApp.

According to the police, they had received information that a man was sending information to the enemy country through WhatsApp and other social media applications. Taking action on the same, the police detained him. When his mobile phone was checked, they found sensitive information, including conversations, photos and videos, that was shared with Pakistani nationals.

According to police sources, Arman had been sending sensitive information related to the Army to Pakistan for long. The accused sent information related to the Indian Army, Defence Expo and other military activities to Pakistan, which could have posed a serious threat to the country’s security and strategic preparations.

“Photos of India’s Defence Expo-2025 were also found in his mobile phone, which he had sent to Pakistani agents. Investigation revealed that Arman was in constant contact on WhatsApp with numbers of Pakistan’s 92 series on his mobile phone. Two SIM cards and two IMEI numbers have been identified. Apart from this, he was carrying out spying activities from another mobile number. The accused had shared several crucial pieces of information related to military activities and defence preparations in India that included photographs, locations and details of possible events,” said a senior investigating official.

The investigation teams are continuing to question the accused after taking him in six days’ police remand. They are trying to find out the network active behind him, and other important details. A case has been registered against the accused under Section 152 of the BNS, Sections 2,3,4 and 5 of the Official Secrets Act, 1923, and under the sections of treason at the Nagina police station.

An acquaintance of the accused said he was being unnecessarily dragged into the case. He said her aunt lived in Pakistan and that he would talk to her. He claimed that he was not a spy.
