Voice of warrior king
Sony Entertainment Television is set to bring viewers a historical drama with its upcoming series Chakravarti Samrat Prithviraj Chauhan, which charts the journey of one of India’s most revered kings. The show promises to offer an in-depth portrayal of Prithviraj Chauhan’s rise — from a young prince to a warrior monarch — through a retelling of key moments from his early life and reign.
The epic narrative would delve into the challenges he faced and highlight the strength, courage and wisdom that defined his legacy. From his formative years to the battles that cemented his place in Indian history, the show aims to evoke both pride and inspiration in its viewers.
Adding gravitas to the project is actor Ashutosh Rana, who joins the series as its narrator. Lending his voice to the character of Chand Bardai — Prithviraj Chauhan’s close confidant and court poet — Rana would guide audiences through the emotional and historical arc of the series.
“It is a matter of pride and joy for me to lend my voice as the narrator for this historical saga,” said Rana. “As a child, I grew up listening to tales of Prithviraj Chauhan — stories of his unmatched bravery, wisdom and spirit. Those stories left a deep impact on me and to now be part of bringing that legend to life is truly special.”
Rana also reflected on the power of voice in storytelling. “As an actor, I’ve always believed that voice holds great power. Through this narration, I aim to bring depth, dignity and intensity to the story. The emotions I carry — rooted in strength, passion and respect — resonate closely with the spirit of this show.”
‘Chakravarti Samrat Prithviraj Chauhan’ is part of Sony TV’s efforts to revisit iconic historical figures with cinematic storytelling and compelling performances. The show is expected to appeal to audiences across generations, offering a blend of education, emotion and national pride.
