Slum Rehabilitation Authority awarded first position among 95 board
The Maharashtra Government has implemented the "100-day 7-point action plan (Phase II)" to increase efficiency, transparency and people-orientedness in various government and semi-government offices in the state. Slum Rehabilitation Authority, Greater Mumbai (SRA) has been awarded first position in this initiative.
All the credit for this award goes to the visionary leadership of the Authority's Chief Executive Officer Dr. Mahendra Kalyankar (B.P.S.) and the teamwork of the employees in each department.
Highlights of SRA's remarkable performance under the 7-point plan:
1. Website and digital service accessibility
* SRA's website (https://sra.gov.in) is now available in 6 languages, on all digital devices.
* Use of WhatsApp and generative AI based bot (broadcasting).
* Compliance with WCAG 2.0 and GIGW guidelines.
2. Communication with Central Government and Funding
* Request for proposed funds for rehabilitation schemes in coordination with the Ministry of Railways and Environment.
* Appropriate response and follow-up for centrally sponsored schemes.
3. Cleanliness and Document Management
* Registration of 2.72 crore documents and destruction of more than 40 lakh documents.
* Income of about ₹ 3 lakh from sale of old heavy goods.
4. Grievance Redressal and Visitor Facilities
* Timely redressal of 100% complaints (on Apale Sarkar and PG portal).
* Separate toilets, waiting rooms and beautification.
5. Improvement in office procedures
* Disposal of 87% cases in e-office system.
* Training of all officers and improvement in working style.
6. Use of AI and Technology
* Successful implementation of Chatbot, GIS, Auto DCR, Auto Annexure II and online dashboard.
* Automated disposal of judicial and departmental cases.
7. Promotion of financial and industrial investment
* Monthly meetings with institutions like MCHI, CREDAI, BDA etc.
* Total potential investment of Rs. 1690 crore, rehabilitation of more than 4000 slum dwellers ensured.
