15 arrested during Op Akraman in Panchkula

Under the leadership of Commissioner of Police Sibash Kabiraj, the police launched a major crackdown as part of the special initiative “Operation Akraman".

A force of 172 personnel, divided into 40 teams, carried out coordinated raids across multiple locations in the city. As a result of the operation, four FIRs were registered and 15 individuals were arrested on the spot.

Those arrested were allegedly involved in a variety of criminal activities, including theft, drug trafficking, illegal possession of firearms, and violations under the Excise and POCSO Acts. The police also apprehended several absconding and wanted criminals with non-bailable warrants.

During the operation, officers recovered 15 gm heroin and 25 bottles of illicit liquor. The arms seized included two country-made pistols, three live cartridges, and one large knife. A stolen bicycle was also recovered from one of the suspects.

Traffic enforcement was also part of the operation, with four drivers fined for violating lane discipline, reflecting the police’s broader focus on public safety and law enforcement.

Commissioner Kabiraj commended the police teams for their swift and effective action. He emphasised that the Panchkula Police is fully committed to cracking down on crime and providing a safe environment for citizens.
