LPG cylinder is available for Rs 300 cheaper, customers get subsidy under this scheme

Which consumers benefit
Actually, the beneficiaries of Pradhan Mantri Ujjwala Yojana (PMUY) get a subsidy of Rs 300 on LPG cylinder. In this way, PMUY beneficiaries get a benefit of more than Rs 300 as compared to general customers. Currently, the cylinder for Ujjwala Yojana is Rs 550. At the same time, it is Rs 853 for general consumers.
About the scheme
Pradhan Mantri Ujjwala Yojana was launched by Prime Minister Narendra Modi on May 1, 2016. Under this scheme, the government had set a target of providing 5 crore LPG connections to poor families. Subsequently, the target was increased to 8 crore, which was achieved on September 7, 2019, seven months ahead of the target.

These are the conditions
There are some conditions to avail this scheme. Its applicant must be a citizen of India. Apart from this, the applicant must be a member of a Below Poverty Line (BPL) family. At the same time, the applicant should not already have an LPG connection. Necessary documents – Aadhar card and ration card, bank account details are necessary.
