'We Have Space For Him': Mohamed Salah Playfully Invites Kevin De Bruyne To Join Liverpool Next Season; Video
Mohamed Salah has jokingly offered a spot in Liverpool team to Manchester City’s outgoing midfielder Kevin De Bruyne, as the Belgian maestro prepares for a new chapter following the 2024-25 season. In a light-hearted moment , Salah praised De Bruyne’s contributions to English football and extended a humorous invitation for him to switch sides in the Premier League rivalry.
Salah said, "I want to tell him congratulations for your career. He’s done a phenomenal job at City, and he was great for the league. I really wish him the best… and we have a space for him"
The 33-year-old Belgian had earlier confirmed that he will part ways with Manchester City once his current contract expires this summer. While Major League Soccer clubs have expressed interest to sing him rumours also suggest Serie A side Napoli is also in the race to sign him.
De Bruyne has not ruled out continuing in the Premier League. Speaking after City’s shock 1-0 loss to Crystal Palace in the FA Cup final, he admitted that his decision would involve careful consideration, particularly because of his family.
He said, "I don't know [whether I'll stay in the Premier League], it depends on what comes. Like I said to my Belgium colleagues, I have a family. I have young kids I have to take care of, it's a decision that has to suit all of us, not just me. When I'm 20 years old and all by myself, I can make a decision, that is very easy. But now it's a bit more complex. Of course. [You can expect to hear a decision] whenever I'm ready to make one. As long as I don't know, I can't tell you anything,"
What next for De Bruyne?
De Bruyne’s future remains undecided, his next move will certainly be one of the most-watched developments in world football as the summer transfer window approaches. As of now the Manchester City legend is set to play his last two matches against Bournemouth and Fulham.
