Mumbai To Host Maharashtra’s First-Ever Women-Led 'Sindoor Yatra' Honouring Indian Army’s Operation Sindoor

Mumbai: On Tuesday, 20 May 2025, Maharashtra will hold its first-ever women-led ‘Sindoor Yatra’ to honour the bravery of the Indian Army. The procession will start at 4:30 PM from Mani Bhavan, Gavdevi, Mumbai. The event will be led by Veermata Anuradha Tai Gore and Dr. Manju Lodha. More than 1,500 women will participate, including wives and families of martyred soldiers, veterans, social workers, actresses from the Marathi film industry, and other guests.

The yatra is dedicated to the Indian Army’s ‘Operation Sindoor’, a counter-terrorism mission. Following a terrorist attack in Pahalgam, the Army carried out precise strikes on terrorist camps in Pakistan-occupied Kashmir and Pakistan. The ‘Sindoor Yatra’ has been organised by women to honour and show solidarity with this courageous operation. It sends a message of patriotism, social awareness, and gratitude to the Army. Organisers hope this event will inspire people in Mumbai and across Maharashtra.

The event will conclude with the presence of state Cabinet Minister Mangal Prabhat Lodha, who will offer floral tributes and pay homage to the statue of Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj.
