Water Storage Levels: 38% In Jalgaon, 48% In Dhule, 47% In Nandurbar
As the temperature continues to rise and the last phase of May begins, the water storage condition of dams in Jalgaon, Dhule and Nandurbar districts is satisfactory, and this storage is sufficient until the start of the monsoon season, the administration said. The Tapi Irrigation Development Corporation stated that the water storage in three big dams in Jalgaon district is 37 per cent, in 11 medium projects in Dhule district, 48 per cent, and in two medium projects in Nandurbar district, 57 per cent, as of Monday.
There are three big dams and 14 medium projects in Jalgaon district. Among the big dams, the Girna Dam on the Girna River has 25 per cent water storage on Monday, while last year on the same day, it had 19 per cent. Ten municipalities and 130 water supply schemes of 174 villages depend on this dam for drinking water. Hatnur Dam on the Tapi River has 32 per cent water storage; last year, it was 31 per cent. Bhusawal Railway, Bhusawal Ordnance Factory, Varangaon Ordnance Factory, Bhusawal city, and Jalgaon MIDC depend on this dam. Meanwhile, Waghur Dam, which supplies water to Jalgaon city, has 71 per cent water storage; last year, it had 64 per cent. There are 14 medium projects in the district, which currently have 29 per cent storage; last year, there was 17 per cent water storage.
This year, only 17 tankers are operating in 14 villages in Jalgaon district. Last year on this day, 92 tankers were supplying water to 75 villages. In Chalisgaon taluka, six tankers are supplying water to six villages. In Amalner taluka, four villages are being supplied with water by six tankers. The administration said that one tanker is operating in each village in Jamner, Bhusawal, Pachora and Bhadgaon talukas.
48 per cent stock in 11 projects in Dhule district
There are no large projects in Dhule district, but there are 11 medium projects. They are as follows: Sulwade Barrage on the Tapi River - 78 per cent, Sarangkheda Barrage - 49 per cent, Panjra - 25 per cent, Malangaon - 27 per cent, Jamkhedi - 21 per cent, Kanoli - 16 per cent, Burai - 27 per cent, Karvand - 33 per cent, Aner - 56 per cent, Sonavad - 14 per cent, and Amravati - 55 per cent. It was stated that there is a usable reserve of 164 Dalghami in these 11 projects. In addition, it has been claimed that there is a usable reserve of 34 Dalghami, i.e., 27 per cent, in 45 small projects in the district.
47 per cent reserve in 2 projects in Nandurbar district
In Nandurbar district, there are two projects on the Tapi River: Prakash Barrage and Rangavali. The Tapi Irrigation Development Corporation stated that the usable reserve is 62 per cent in the Prakash Barrage and 31 per cent in the Rangavali project, with an average of 47 per cent water reserve.
