IPL 2025: Delhi Capitals Unveil Stunning Painting Of KL Rahul After DC Keeper-Batter Becomes Fastest Indian To 8000 T20 Runs; Video

An artist unveiled a stunning painting of KL Rahul on account of his blazing hundred in the IPL 2025 game between the Delhi Capitals and Gujarat Titans at the Arun Jaitley International Stadium on May 18, Sunday. In a video shared by the franchise themselves on social media, a colourful painting saw Rahul standing with his helmet off and bat in the air.

Rahul lit up the Arun Jaitley Stadium on Sunday with a blazing hundred against the former champions as the keeper-batter lifted the Titans from 19-1 to 199 in 20 overs. However, the 33-year-old's unbeaten 112 was a mere footnote as the Titans chased down 200 with ten wickets to spare and only needed 19 overs. Nevertheless, Rahul also notched up an incredible milestone in the process, becoming the fastest Indian to 8000 T20 runs, achieving it only in 224 innings.

KL Rahul likely to be back in the T20I setup

With Rahul now amassing over 400 runs in IPL 2025, the Karnataka-born cricketer is likely to return to the T20I setup ahead of the T20I series against Bangladesh in August. Despite scoring 2265 runs in 72 T20Is, Rahul hasn't played in the format since 2022.

The elegant right-hander's performance, especially his strike rate came under the scanner throughout that tournament. He finished that competition with 128 runs in six matches at 21.33 alongside a strike rate of 120.75 as the Men in Blue's campaign ended in the semi-finals.
