Op Sindoor a powerful message to terrorists, says Smriti Irani

A large number of women took part in the ‘Sindoor Yatra’ organised by the Delhi BJP at the Connaught Place here on Monday to honour the armed forces for the success of Op Sindoor.

The event, led by Chief Minister Rekha Gupta and Delhi BJP president Virendra Sachdeva, drew wide participation and was marked by patriotic fervour.

The yatra, organised by the BJP Mahila Morcha under the leadership of its Delhi unit president Richa Pandey, saw the presence of several senior leaders, including BJP Mahila Morcha national president Vanathi Srinivasan, former Union Minister Smriti Irani, Delhi BJP co-incharge Dr Alka Gurjar and MP Kamaljeet Sehrawat.

Delhi BJP state vice-president Yogita Singh, state minister Sarika Jain and Mahila Morcha general secretaries Priyal Bhardwaj, Sarita Tomar and Vaishali Poddar also joined the event.

Speaking on the occasion, Chief Minister Rekha Gupta said the “Sindoor Yatra” was not just symbolic but a heartfelt tribute from the women of Delhi to the armed forces.

“On behalf of all our sisters, we bow to the Indian Army. This yatra sends a clear message that the people of Delhi stand firmly with Prime Minister Narendra Modi and the Indian armed forces,” she said.

Highlighting the government’s response to terrorism, she said the armed forces, under the leadership of the Prime Minister, had launched a decisive strike through Operation Sindoor, successfully dismantling terrorist infrastructure.

“Our brave soldiers have safeguarded the honour and pride of the country’s daughters and sisters, and this fills the entire nation with pride,” she added.

Addressing the crowd, Vanathi Srinivasan said similar yatras were being organised by Mahila Morcha units across the country to honour the armed forces and express solidarity with the government’s firm stance against terrorism.

“Women everywhere are carrying the tricolour, showing their support for the nation’s security forces,” she said.

Smriti Irani described Operation Sindoor as a powerful message to terrorists. “This is not just a campaign, it’s a statement of national resolve. Our Army ensures that the sindoor of our mothers and sisters remains untouched. This is our salute to those mothers whose sons protect our borders,” she said.

Delhi Cabinet Minister Manjinder Singh Sirsa and Chandni Chowk MP Praveen Khandelwal also participated in Tiranga Yatras at different locations in the city.
