Bhopal: Promotion Formula Worked Out, Government To Approach Employees’ Unions
Bhopal (Madhya Pradesh): The government has almost worked out on a formula to provide promotion to around four lakh employees who are awaiting promotion for the last nine years.
Before rolling out the promotion formula, the government wants to win confidence of all employees’ unions. In this regard, it has asked a high power committee to contact all government employees’ unions and get their mandate.
Sources said that the government had constituted a high powered committee to look into the promotion issue. The committee comprises of some senior IAS officers.
The committee prepared the promotion formula and had even given a presentation before Chief Minister Mohan Yadav a few days back. After looking at the presentation, the CM suggested the committee to hold talks with all government employees so that when the promotion formula is rolled out, no one has any kind of objection. He also asked the committee to prepare the draft of the promotion formula. Later, the draft will be tabled before the cabinet for necessary approval.
The promotion formula focuses on all three categories vis General, Scheduled Caste and Scheduled Tribe. The formula pitches that if reserved class employee comes into the merit list then he will get promotion in general category.
To ensure that no legal hurdle is encountered while rolling out the promotion formula, the government has even taken the help of the law department. If things move smoothly then the government could come up with promotion formula in the following days.
Notably, it was in first week of April that Chief Minister Mohan Yadav announced to give promotion to government employees. Since then, the government is tirelessly working to find remedy to the promotion issue which is in court from last many years. The announcement of the CM had brought cheers on the faces of government employees who are waiting for promotion for the last nine years. Notably, in the last few years, scores of government employees have retired without getting promotion.
