PM Awas Yojana: The deadline to apply for the ambitious Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana of the Central Government has been extended. Now applicants will be able to apply for it till 30 December.

PM Awas Yojana: The central government led by Prime Minister Narendra Modi in the country has extended the last date to apply for Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana. Under this scheme, the government helps financially weak people in urban and rural areas to build pucca houses at affordable rates.

This announcement of the government has given relief to lakhs of people falling in this category. In such a situation, if someone has not applied yet due to any reason, then he will be able to apply till December 2025. Let us tell you that the government has extended the last date of application for both urban and rural schemes.

According to official figures, more than 92.61 lakh houses have been completed under this scheme so far. Now for the year 2025, the government has extended the deadline to apply to December 30, 2025. Under PMAY-U, financial assistance of up to Rs 2.5 lakh is given by the government to low-income people to build a pucca house. However, there are some conditions for this also.

Eligibility for PM Awas Yojana

  • First of all, the applicant should be a citizen of India.
  • The applicant should not have his own pucca house anywhere in the country.
  • The family monthly income of the applicant from rural area should be less than Rs 10,000.
  • The beneficiaries from rural area will be selected on the basis of Socio-Economic Caste Census (SECC-2011).
  • The annual income of the applicant from urban area should be up to Rs 3 lakh for economically weaker section, Rs 6 lakh for lower income group and Rs 9 lakh for middle income group.
  • Under the scheme, women from EWS and LIG groups, especially widows and women from SC, ST, OBC and minority communities can be included as beneficiaries.
  • These can also include rickshaw pullers, street vendors, daily wage laborers, industrial workers and migrant laborers.

How to apply

  • First of all go to the official website of PMAY.
  • Now click on the option of ‘Citizen Assessment’ on the homepage.
  • After this, select the option according to your status (eg – Slum Dwellers, Benefit Under 3 Components etc.) from the dropdown menu.
  • Now a new page will open, in which you will have to fill your name and Aadhaar card number.
  • Then verify your Aadhaar by clicking on the ‘Check’ button.
  • Now fill all the necessary information in the registration form carefully.
  • After this, upload all the necessary documents and submit it along with the captcha code.
  • Finally click on the ‘Submit’ button.
