Brief: Man acquitted in murder case shot dead in Moga

Faridkot: A man acquitted in a murder case was shot dead at Dodhar Garbi village in Moga district. Deceased Inderpal Singh was previously accused in the 2010 murder of former Sarpanch Raspal Singh. However, he was acquitted some time ago due to lack of evidence. On May 15, he was allegedly killed by Arshpreet Singh, alias Arsh, a grandson of Raspal Singh. The police have arrested Arshpreet and claimed to have recovered the pistol used by him to kill Inderpal.

2.2 kg heroin seized, 2 persons arrested

Ferozepur: Crime Investigation Agency sleuths have nabbed two drug peddlers and seized 2.2 kg heroin from their possession. SSP Bhupinder Singh said a trap was laid following intelligence inputs and Sandeep Singh (21), alias Motu, and his younger brother Lovepreet Singh (19), alias Labbu, both from Dhani Peer Berian near Palla Megha village, were arrested.

Man killed in road accident

Abohar: A man was killed and his two brothers were critically injured after the motorcycle they were riding was hit by an unidentified vehicle near Ramsara village along the Abohar-Hanumangarh highway on Monday night. The deceased was identified as Ankit Kumar, while those injured were Vishu and Rajan, all residents of Ramsara village. They were going home after day’s work.

Punjab
