Kang slams Punjab govt over key posts to outsiders

Senior Congress leader and former minister Jagmohan Singh Kang on Tuesday assailed the Bhagwant Mann-led AAP government in Punjab for giving important positions in the state government to outsiders, especially those hailing from Delhi and enjoying proximity with the party’s supremo Arvind Kejriwal.

“While ignoring Punjabis, AAP has appointed its Delhi spokesperson Reena Gupta as the chairperson of the Punjab Pollution Control Board, while another Delhi leader Deepak Chauhan has been appointed as the chairman of Punjab Large Industrial Development Board,” said the former Congress Minister, while calling it “totally unjust, unfair, and rather shameful for Punjab”.

The Congress leader also questioned the silence of Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann over such decisions while quipping that the CM was sitting helplessly as a mute spectator.
