Nothing Phone 3 Set For Global Debut In July: What To Expect From Carl Pei’s 'True Flagship'
Nothing Phone 3 Release Date: Nothing has confirmed that its third-generation smartphone, the Nothing Phone 3, will launch globally in July. While the exact date remains under wraps, the UK-based tech brand is promising a major leap from its predecessor.
'First True Flagship', Says Company
In a press release, Nothing described the upcoming device as its “first true flagship smartphone.” The company claims the Phone 3 will offer “premium materials, major performance upgrades, and software that genuinely levels things up.” These strong words suggest that Nothing is aiming to step beyond its previous mid-premium positioning and go head-to-head with top-tier players like Samsung and Apple.
The Nothing Phone 2, released in July 2023, was powered by the Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 chipset and included dual 50-megapixel rear cameras. With the Phone 3, Nothing is expected to raise the bar further, possibly introducing a Snapdragon flagship processor, a bigger battery, and a more advanced camera setup.
Carl Pei Hints at Premium Pricing
Appearing at The Android Show: I/O Edition earlier this month, Nothing’s founder and CEO Carl Pei teased the pricing of the Phone 3. He revealed that the upcoming handset could be priced around GBP 800, which converts to roughly Rs 90,000 in India.
That’s nearly double the starting price of the Nothing Phone 2, which launched at Rs 44,999 for the 8GB RAM + 128GB storage variant. However, Pei’s remark signals a shift in strategy, with Nothing no longer shying away from premium pricing if it aligns with a flagship experience.
Speculations Hint at Serious Upgrades
While official specs are still under wraps, leaks suggest the Nothing Phone 3 could feature a Snapdragon 8-series chip, a 5,000mAh or larger battery, and a triple rear camera system — potentially including a periscope telephoto lens, a first for Nothing.
The Phone 2’s camera setup included a 50-megapixel Sony IMX890 main sensor with both OIS and EIS, paired with a 50-megapixel Samsung JN1 ultra-wide shooter. On the front, it carried a 32-megapixel Sony IMX615 sensor. The battery was rated at 4,700mAh with 45W wired and 5W Qi wireless charging.
With the Phone 3, Nothing seems poised to bridge design innovation with top-tier specs. More details, including official renders and hardware features, are expected to surface in the weeks ahead. Until then, fans and tech enthusiasts will be watching closely as Carl Pei’s startup gears up for its boldest launch yet.
