SIT Report Exposes TMC Link In Murshidabad Violence, BJP Targets INDIA Bloc Over Attacks

A recent SIT report on the Murshidabad violence has intensified political tensions in West Bengal, with the BJP launching a direct attack on the ruling Trinamool Congress (TMC) and the INDIA alliance. The violence occurred on April 11, a Friday, and was marked by targeted attacks on Hindu families. The SIT, formed under the directions of the Kolkata High Court, found that the violence was premeditated and named local TMC councillor Mehbub Alam as one of the instigators. BJP spokesperson Sudhanshu Trivedi alleged that the incident mirrors the communal targeting seen in the Pahalgam attacks.According to the report, 113 Hindu homes were vandalized, and police forces remained passive even after repeated pleas for help. In a deliberate move, water supply lines were reportedly cut to prevent locals from extinguishing fires. BJP has accused the TMC of spreading misinformation that outsiders were behind the violence, but the SIT report has debunked that narrative. The BJP claims the Mamata Banerjee government has failed to maintain law and order and is demanding immediate action against the perpetrators. The party has vowed to keep the pressure on both the TMC and the INDIA alliance, calling the violence a communal attack that cannot be ignored.
