A brilliant web series leaves no stone unturned in entertaining its audience with every scene of it. This is what exactly Sony Liv’s new thriller series Kankhajura promises. On May 21, 2025, the OTT giant released the trailer of the new series which is all set to hit Sony Liv on May 30. Directed by Chandan Arora and produced by Ajay Rai, the crime thriller series stars Mohit Raina, Roshan Mathew, Sarah Jane Dias, and Trinetra Haldar Gummaraju in important roles.

Kankhajura Trailer Breakdown

What begins with a reunion of brothers Max (played by Mohit Raina) and Ashu (Roshan Mathew), slowly turns into a nightmare no one saw coming. The trailer of Kankhajura starts with Ashu returning to his builder brother Max from jail after 14 years. As the friends and family celebrate Ashu’s return, no one bats an eye at the man whose return is filled with rage, aggression, and the feeling of revenge.

The series’ makers have chosen a cast that fits together perfectly, like pieces of a jigsaw puzzle, like the roles were meant for them.

As the trailer progresses, a background voice claims that Ashu is not what he looks like. With intense drama and edge-of-the-seat thriller scenes, one can expect everything a crime thriller has to offer.

Sarah Jane Dias, who plays Nisha, opens up about the series and said, “There’s something deeply unsettling about Kankhajura, not just the story, but what it forces you to confront—guilt, family, and memory. Nisha is a character who’s trying to hold it all together while everything inside her is falling apart. It wasn’t easy to play a character that is so nuanced and layered, but it was empowering.”
