Gautam Buddha Nagar MP Dr. Mahesh Sharma said that on March 24, 2025, a proposal for the stoppage of Vande Bharat at Khurja Junction was sent to the Ministry of Railways, so that it can be easy for the people here to go to Ayodhya and Lucknow.
The proposal included 13 demands including renovation of Khurja City Railway Station, construction of halt at Dharpa Railway Phantak, stoppage of Delhi Lucknow Shatabdi at Khurja, arrangement of train from Khurja to Haridwar. For this, he reached the Railway Ministry on Monday along with Khurja MLA Meenakshi Singh, Municipal Chairman husband Bhagwandas Singhal. Where he requested to consider the proposal letter given earlier. After which the proposal to stop Vande Bharat at Khurja Junction has been approved by the Ministry. In the coming few days, the train will start stopping at Khurja Junction. There is an atmosphere of happiness among the people of Khurja regarding this.
Vande Bharat started in the country from Varanasi railway station in UP. Prime Minister Narendra Modi started its operation till Delhi while giving the gift of Vande Bharat to his parliamentary constituency. The first train was run to Delhi via Varanasi, Prayagraj and Kanpur. Now two Vande Bharat trains are being run between Varanasi and Delhi. One runs from Varanasi in the morning and the other runs from Delhi. Similarly, on the return journey, both trains run from Delhi and Varanasi in the afternoon. Apart from this, Vande Bharat is also running from Agra to Varanasi. After the construction of Ram temple in Ayodhya, Vande Bharat has been started here as well.
