Varsity celebrates youth power, culture, creativity
Himachal Pradesh Central University, in collaboration with its Student Council, successfully concluded Anukriti — a dynamic cultural and educational initiative that showcased the energy, talent and leadership of its student community. The event drew enthusiastic participation from students across all campuses and served as a vibrant platform for cultural expression, creative thought and youth engagement.
Vice-Chancellor Prof Sat Prakash Bansal, who graced the occasion as chief guest, highlighted the university’s achievement as the first in Himachal Pradesh to earn an A+ NAAC accreditation. He emphasised the importance of the National Education Policy in nurturing critical and creative thinking among students and urged them to follow the ideals of Swami Vivekananda in contributing towards the vision of a “Developed India 2047.”
Special guests included Prof Nagesh Thakur, former national president of ABVP, who praised Anukriti as a unifying cultural initiative that fosters youth solidarity and national spirit. Col KKS Dadwal also addressed the gathering, encouraging students to uphold India’s rich heritage and contribute to national service, referencing the success of Operation Sindoor as an example of courage and commitment.
Student Council leaders Hemraj and Payal Sharma reported overwhelming student engagement in events such as poster-making, youth parliament and poetry competitions. The winners were felicitated during the grand cultural finale, bringing the programme to a spirited and celebratory close.
