Glance, the consumer tech company backed by Google, has launched Glance AI, a new shopping platform that turns selfies into shopping guides. Now available worldwide on Android and iOS, the app introduces a fresh way for users to discover fashion: not by typing in keywords, but by letting the AI style them in real-time.

By using deep commerce data, visual modelling, and predictive intelligence, Glance AI moves past traditional browsing. Shoppers can upload a photo or selfie, and the platform instantly generates hyper-personalised looks styled specifically for them. These aren’t just suggestions — they’re photorealistic renderings tailored to the user’s skin tone, body shape, and fashion preferences, with real products available to purchase from over 400 brands.

What sets Glance AI apart is how it visualises shopping. The platform uses advanced AI models — including geometry-based rendering and diffusion models — to create highly realistic previews of how an outfit would look on you, not on a generic model. These images are generated instantly and paired with shoppable links, making the jump from inspiration to purchase smoother than ever.

The platform is built around three core AI layers:

Initial trials in the US have shown strong traction. In just a few weeks, Glance AI attracted over 1.5 million users, with 50 per cent returning weekly. Users created more than 40 million style requests, and half of them either downloaded or shared the AI-generated styles. Notably, 40 per cent of users tapped through to begin a shopping journey, reflecting not just curiosity, but actual buying interest.

Fashion is just the beginning. Glance plans to expand the AI shopping experience into beauty, accessories, and even travel, making the idea of being "styled by AI" a much broader trend in the months ahead.
