What doctors called a “sinus infection” turned out to be a rare cancer that took a 33-year-old woman’s life

A Nevada woman, Nicole Kowalski-Kleinsasser, initially dismissed a toothache as a minor issue, only to discover it was a rare, aggressive salivary gland cancer. Misdiagnosed initially, the cancer progressed, requiring extensive treatment, including radiation and facial reconstruction. Despite periods of remission, the cancer returned, leading to her tragic death at 33.
