Lava Shark 5G Debuts With Bloat-Free Android 15 & Stylish Finish. Your Next Budget Beast?
Lava’s newest launch, the Shark 5G, is not your typical entry-level smartphone. With a clean, bloatware-free Android 15 interface and a glossy dual-tone design that stands out, the device is aimed at users who crave simplicity and style without compromising on connectivity. The inclusion of a 90Hz refresh rate and face unlock support makes this a surprisingly feature-rich pick in the budget category.
The Shark 5G is now available for purchase in two eye-catching colours — Stellar Gold and Stellar Blue — through Lava’s official e-store and offline retail network.
Lava Shark 5G: Aggressively Priced for First-Time 5G Users
Lava has priced the Shark 5G at Rs 7,999, targeting value-conscious users looking to experience 5G connectivity without splurging. The phone comes in a single variant featuring 4GB of LPDDR4X RAM and 64GB of internal storage.
Despite the price, Lava is pushing the envelope by offering features typically missing in this range, such as a 90Hz display and Android 15 out of the box.
A Simple Yet Capable Performer
At its core, the Shark 5G is powered by the Unisoc T765 octa-core processor, tailored to handle everyday tasks like browsing, video streaming, and social media with ease. Lava says the use of LPDDR4X RAM enables better memory management, improved multitasking, and smoother app switching.
The 5,000mAh battery ensures day-long use, and while the device supports 18W wired charging, only a 10W charger is bundled in the box.
Clean UI, Decent Cameras
One of the most notable features of the Lava Shark 5G is its clean Android 15 experience, completely free of unnecessary pre-installed apps. For security and convenience, the phone offers face unlock.
Camera-wise, it sports a 13MP rear shooter designed to perform across varied lighting environments. “The camera is designed to capture detailed images across varying lighting conditions,” the company stated. The front houses a 5MP camera suited for selfies and video calls.
On the outside, the phone has a high-gloss finish with a dual-camera layout and a circular LED flash array that gives it a premium touch. The phone is also IP54-certified for splash and dust resistance — another welcome addition in the sub-Rs 10K bracket.
With the Shark 5G, Lava continues to challenge the status quo in the budget space, offering a thoughtfully designed smartphone that blends style, utility, and next-gen connectivity.
