Yeh Hai Mohabbatein Fame Ruhaanika Dhawann Scores 91% In 12th Board: 'While Other Actors My Age Were Working, I Focussed On Studies'
Actress Ruhaanika Dhawann, best known for playing young Ruhi Bhalla in the hit television show Yeh Hai Mohabbatein, has every reason to celebrate. The 17-year-old is on cloud nine after scoring an impressive 91 per cent in her Class XII International Baccalaureate (IB) board exams, the results for which were announced on May 20.
Speaking about her achievement, Ruhaanika told Hindustan Times, "I am very happy to have scored 91 per cent in my boards. I have worked really hard. I halted my acting career for three years to focus on my studies, and now I feel it was all worth it."
The young star reveals that her parents are elated with the result and always believed in her. "They had faith in me, and I have proved them right, which feels great. While other actors my age were working and taking up projects, I chose to focus on my studies," she said.
Ruhaanika, who has completed her A-levels under the Cambridge curriculum, has developed interest in business and economics. She now plans to pursue a degree in economics, possibly with a minor in international relations or entrepreneurship.
"I am currently preparing for entrance exams at prestigious colleges across Maharashtra and other parts of India. The more flexible schedule in college will give me the time I need to focus on acting again," she added.
Looking ahead, Ruhaanika confirmed she will continue living in India, a decision made in consultation with her parents. "My parents believe I’m still too young to be on my own in another country, and I agree. And partly I want to stay closer to my first love which is acting," she explained.
Ruhaanika, who has also acted in Salman Khan's Jai Ho and Sunny Deol's Ghayal Once Again, made headlines in 2023 when she bought her first house, that too at the age of only 15.
On January 1, 2023, the actress had shared the news with her followers on Instagram.
"With the blessings of Waheguru ji and my parents sharing my happiness with you all…To new beginnings!! My heart is full and I’m extremely Grateful.. I have check marked a very big dream- “Buying a home on my own.” This is very huge for me and my folks. I couldn’t wait to share this with you all," she had written.
Ruhaanika gushed that it is just the beginning of her journey to success and that there is nothing that can stop her.

Ruhaanika played the role of Ruhi, daughter of Karan Patel's Raman Bhalla and Divyanka Tripathi's Ishita Iyer in Yeh Hai Mohabbatein. She won several accolades for her performance and her cute antics on the show won the hearts of the audience.
In 2014, Ruhaanika also played a cameo in Salman Khan's Jai Ho. In February 2015, she signed Sunny Deol starrer action drama Ghayal Once Again.
