Mumbai News: Massive Fire Breaks Out At Worli’s Marshal Showroom; 1 Firefighter Injured During Operation

Mumbai: A fire broke out in a showroom at Worli on Friday morning, affecting electrical wiring, installations, and various stored materials on the mezzanine floor. One fireman sustained a minor injury during the operation, while no other injuries were reported. The blaze was fully extinguished within two and a half hours.

A fire broke out around 4:45 AM on Friday at the Marshal Showroom, located in Bharat Bazar, Gandhi Nagar, on Dr. E. Moses Road, Worli. The incident was classified as a Level-1 (minor) fire. The affected area, measuring around 900 sq. ft., was part of a ground-plus-one-floor structure with an AC sheet roof, used as a godown.

According to a fire official, “The fire was mainly confined to the showroom’s electrical wiring and installations, as well as various stored materials including paper bundles, cartons, gift boxes, makeup accessories, printed matter, stationery stock, clothes, computers, iron racks, wooden doors, an AC unit on the roof, and a TVS motorcycle kept on the mezzanine floor.”

Leading Fireman Ajindra Ganpat Sawant sustained a minor injury to his right hand during the firefighting operation. He was immediately taken to Nair Hospital for treatment. The exact cause of the fire will be determined following a detailed investigation, said a fire official.
