The Thane Municipal Corporation (TMC) has confirmed the detection of 10 COVID-19 cases in the city over the past three days. Officials emphasised that all patients exhibit mild symptoms and are currently recovering at home under medical supervision. The civic administration has called upon hospitals and healthcare workers to remain vigilant and ready to manage any new cases promptly.
'COVID-19 Test Kits Readily Available'
TMC Commissioner Saurabh Rao has directed the health department and local hospitals to maintain heightened alertness for screening and treating COVID-19 patients. A high-level review meeting held on Friday assessed the city’s healthcare preparedness and ongoing response.
Chief Medical Officer Dr Chetna Nitil reported that all patients are stable and recuperating at home. "A sufficient stock of medicines has been maintained at all health centres, and COVID-19 testing kits are readily available," the release quoted her as saying, as per a report on PTI.
To accommodate any potential surge, the civic body has set up a dedicated 19-bed ward for COVID-19 patients at the Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Hospital in Kalwa. The hospital is also equipped with RT-PCR testing facilities, according to hospital superintendent Dr. Aniruddha Malgaonkar.
The TMC reiterated that the health infrastructure is fully prepared, and constant monitoring is in place. Authorities urged citizens to continue following precautionary measures to curb the spread of the virus."The health machinery is fully prepared, and constant monitoring is underway," the TMC release stated.
