WI Pacer Equals AB De Villiers' Long-Standing ODI Record

IRE Vs WI: West Indies pacer Matthew Forde stunned hosts Ireland with a scintillating fifty which propelled the former ODI world champions to cross the 350-run mark during the 2nd ODI.

After a shaky start to the innings, West Indies attained stability via a brilliant 3rd wicket partnership between Shai Hope and Keacy Carty, where the latter scored a century off 105 balls.

But the star of the innings was Matthew Forde, who scored a 16-ball fifty to shatter record books, as he is now the joint-fastest player to score fifty in Men's ODI cricket (tied with Proteas legend AB de Villiers).

Unfortunately for the Windies, their innings proved to be the only action of the match, as persistent rain any further play in the 2nd ODI at the Clontarf Cricket Club Ground in Dublin.

As the match ended in a 'No Result', Ireland can no longer lose the three-match series (as they won the first ODI comprehensively at the same venue).

West Indies have now failed to win their last two ODI series against Ireland, a major headache for the Caribbean, who eye to qualify for the 2027 ODI World Cup.
