UPSC Prelims 2025: 8 Key Rules To Follow On Exam Day

Exam Day Entry Timings: Gates will close strictly at 9:00 AM (Forenoon) and 2:00 PM (Afternoon). No late entry will be allowed under any circumstances.
Reach the Right Exam Centre: Candidates must report only to the centre mentioned on the e-Admit Card. Centre changes are not permitted.
Mandatory Documents to Carry: Bring a printed copy of your e-Admit Card and a valid photo ID proof (Aadhaar, Passport, Voter ID, or Driving Licence). Digital copies are not accepted.
Arrive Early: Arrive at the exam centre at least 60 minutes before gate closing to complete security checks and verification smoothly.
Banned Items: Electronic gadgets (mobiles, smartwatches), books, notes, and other prohibited items are strictly not allowed inside the exam hall.
Follow the Dress Code: Wear simple and modest clothing suitable for a public place. Avoid accessories or items that could delay security checks.
Lost Registration ID?: If you’ve misplaced your Registration ID, retrieve it using the ‘Forgot RID’ option on the UPSC website with your email and date of birth.
Download Admit Card Smartly: While you can view the admit card on your phone, it's best to download and print it using a desktop or laptop for better formatting and clarity.
