Bhopal Haunting Mystery: Cops Grope In Dark Over Couple’s Death In Blaze; Police Yet To Determine Whether Fire Was Accidental, Intentional Or Malicious
Bhopal (Madhya Pradesh): Married barely three years ago, Satish and Amrapali were a happy couple, living in a rented home in Jatkhedi under Misrod police station.
Satish wasin a flower business while Amrapali was a housewife. Known for their hopes of having children, their lives took a tragic turn when a mysterious fire reduced them and their hopes to ashes.
On November 15, 2024, neighbours spotted smoke billowing from their house and called police and fire services. Firefighters, led by in-charge Manishraj Singh Bhadoria, broke open the door and found a horrifying scene.
The couple was asleep on a single bed; the plywood had burnt, and only charred flesh and bones remained stuck to utensils and bedding.
The police collected remains in bundles for autopsy, but the cause of the fire remained a mystery. The investigation explored various possibilities. One theory was that it was an accidental fire caused by a short circuit, especially since the room was locked from inside and no traces of accelerants like kerosene or petrol were found.
Another possibility considered was that it was a suicide, given that the couple was childless after three years of marriage and that Satish had strained relations with his parents in recent months.
The authorities also examined the foul play angle, noting that the fire was confined to their room and did not spread to other parts of the house, raising suspicions of arson. However, no evidence of enmity or conflict was uncovered.
Despite thorough investigation, police could not determine whether the fire was accidental, intentional, or malicious. The case remains unresolved, leaving many unanswered questions about what truly happened on that tragic morning.
