Two Deaf-Mute Minors Rescued At Bhopal Station Under Operation Nanhe Farishte

Bhopal (Madhya Pradesh): Two deaf and mute minor boys from Jharkhand were rescued by the Railway Protection Force (RPF) at Bhopal Railway Station under “Operation Nanhe Farishte.”

The children were found during a routine check of the general coach in Gorakhpur-Hyderabad Express, sitting near the door in a frightened and helpless condition.

Unable to communicate verbally, the children used gestures to indicate they wanted to make a phone call. RPF officials brought them to the RPF post at the station and contacted their family members. It was confirmed that the boys—Praveen Kumar (14) and Saavan Kumar (17)—are residents of Deoghar district, Jharkhand, and had been missing since May 16, 2025. Missing person reports had already been filed at Kunda and Jasidih police stations.

Senior Divisional Commercial Manager Saurabh Kataria said that following contact with the family, the children were produced before the Child Welfare Committee.

After review by Chairman Dhaniram Singh Pawar and other members, both boys were placed under the care of SOS Balgram (Special) for temporary protection as per section 27 of the Juvenile Justice Act, 2015.
