Drug peddler Sunny Gulla’s house razed
The Amritsar Municipal Corporation, in coordination with the Amritsar Commissionerate Police, on Saturday demolished the residence of infamous drug trafficker Sunny Gulla in the Mohkampura area. The house, belonged to Sunny Gulla, was located at Tung Pai, Batala Road, under the jurisdiction of the Mohkampura police station. Authorities confirmed that the structure was illegally constructed.
Addressing mediapersons at the demolition site, Police Commissioner Gurpreet Singh Bhullar said Sunny Gulla has a long criminal history. “He is currently facing eight cases, including four under the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act, two for attempted murder, one under the Prisons Act, and another related to public violence,” he stated.
The Police Commissioner said Sunny Gulla has been a repeat offender, who has long been involved in drug trafficking. He issued a stern warning to others involved in the drug trade: “Anyone responsible for destroying families and ruining lives does not deserve to live peacefully. The Punjab Police are committed to eradicating the drug menace and will not spare anyone involved in such heinous activities.”
He further urged drug peddlers to either leave the state or abandon the illegal trade and come forward to reform themselves. “The time for warnings is over. Either give up the drug business or face strict action,” he said.
Besides, DCP (Law and Order) Alam Vijay Singh, ACP East Dr Sheetal Singh and several other senior police officials were also present during the demolition drive.
