Israel controls 77% of Gaza, strikes kill 23
The Israeli military is in effect controlling 77 per cent of the Gaza Strip, the strip’s Government Media Office said.
Israeli military strikes killed at least 23 Palestinians across the Gaza Strip on Sunday, including a senior rescue service official and a journalist, local health authorities said.
The media office said the number of Palestinian journalists killed in Gaza since October 2023 stands at 220.
Further details also emerged of the local doctor who lost nine of her 10 children in an Israeli strike on Friday.
Gaza’s Health Ministry said 3,785 people have been killed in the territory since Israel ended a ceasefire and renewed its offensive in March, vowing to destroy Hamas and return the 58 hostages it still holds. Israel also blocked import of all aid for 2 1/2 months before letting a trickle enter last week after pressure from the US.
