Phagwara’s rural roads to be repaired with Rs11.33 cr investment: CM Mann
In a major push for rural infrastructure development, Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann has announced the renovation of 25 link roads in the Phagwara constituency, with a total investment of Rs 11.33 crore. The initiative is aimed at improving connectivity in the rural belt and easing traffic congestion in urban Phagwara.
Aam Aadmi Party’s Phagwara constituency in-charge Joginder Singh Mann said the road works are part of the state government’s broader vision for inclusive development. He highlighted that the project includes critical rural link routes such as Ranipur to Bhakriana road for which Rs 89.96 lakh has been earmarked and Hadiabad to Narangshahpur road for Rs 61.16 lakh. Additionally, Rs 22.62 lakh will be spent on the stretch from the GT Road, Phagwara, to Darvesh village, while Rs 11.13 lakh is set aside for the Nakodar Road to Sunra link.
Other key roads in the plan include Kanshi Nagar to Nangal Majha route (Rs 51.46 lakh), Khurampur via Dhak Palahi to the GT Road (Rs 1.89 crore), and Hoshiarpur Road Phagwara to Jagpalpur (Rs 1.38 crore).
Further allocations include Rs 62.42 lakh for the Rehana Jattan to Lotera road, Rs 48.81 lakh for the Palahi link from Hoshiarpur Road, and Rs 61.83 lakh for the GT Road to Jagatpur Jattan stretch. Additional upgrades include roads passing through Seekri to Jagpalpur (Rs 62.71 lakh), Rawalpindi to Sangatpur (Rs 80.01 lakh), and the GT Road via Nangal to Rurhkan Kalan (Rs 54.95 lakh).
Joginder Singh Mann mentioned that several other link roads are also included in the broader renovation framework, reflecting the government’s sustained efforts to uplift rural infrastructure.
Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann stated that the improved road connectivity will not only benefit residents of the surrounding villages by providing smoother and safer travel but will also help decongest the busy roads of Phagwara city. He reaffirmed his government’s commitment to the all-round development of the region, adding that the AAP administration remains devoted to serving the people of Phagwara with transparency and dedication.
