Heavy rainfall: Delhi witnessed heavy rainfall on Saturday night due to the combination of three weather phenomena. According to the Meteorological Department, east-south-easterly winds from the Bay of Bengal and south-westerly winds from the Arabian Sea blow from northwest India at the lower tropospheric levels of the atmosphere. At the same time, their combination with the dry north-north-westerly winds at the middle level leads to such intense thunderstorm activities.

Delhi’s air is clean: The effect of rain accompanied by strong winds is also being seen on Delhi’s pollution. According to the Central Pollution Control Board, Delhi’s average air quality index was at 105 on Sunday. Air of this level is kept in the medium category. This clean level of Delhi’s air will remain in the next two days as well.
