17 families evacuated after ceiling portion, staircase collapse in Thane building

In Thane's Padwal Nagar, 17 families were evacuated from a 60-year-old building after a ceiling and staircase collapsed early Tuesday. The Nandadeep building residents were moved to Hajuri rental housing as a precaution. Adjacent buildings were also evacuated due to close proximity. Authorities are assessing the building's structural condition.
