JKBA organizes U-23 3×3 Basketball tourney

JAMMU, May 26: A two-day 3×3 Basketball Tournament for U-23 Men and Women, organized by the Jammu and Kashmir Basketball Association (JKBA), began at MA Stadium, here today.
The event features 16 men’s teams and 7 women’s teams, with 22 matches played on Day 1. Top performances came from teams Immortals, STC and RBC, who impressed with their skill and coordination.
The tournament aims to select probables for the upcoming U-23 National 3×3 Championship to be held in Kochi from June 12 to 14. A 3-point shooting contest is also being held alongside the tournament to identify the best long-range shooter.
Aman Sharma, General Secretary JKBA, highlighted the rising popularity of 3×3 Basketball across India and stressed the need to promote it at the grassroots in Jammu and Kashmir.
Dr. Vikram Handa, President JKBA, and Ashok Singh, Senior Vice President, were introduced to players of the opening match who encouraged participants. The matches are being officiated by a panel comprising Sachin Dogra (SAI Coach), Vaneet Pangotra, Rajesh Bandral, Amanjot Singh, Jaskirat Singh, Rohan Kundal, Hritik Khullar and Abhinav Sharma.
Meanwhile, in the ongoing Basketball tournament, several exciting matches took place today. Immortals defeated Golden Titoms by 14-9, while APS Kaluchak overcame Pointers by 14-11. STC Hooper won against STC Panthers by 4-3, Udhampur narrowly lost to RBC (A) by 10-15, Count Conquerors were edged out by RBC (B) by 6-8 and Katra outclassed STC Warriors by 9-1, STC Warriors defeated Parade Ballers by 14-10. Police Line beat Pointers by 17-6, while STC Hoopers triumphed over RBC by 9-6. RBC (A) outplayed Timberwolves by 17-11. STC Terriers beat RBC (B) by 10-4. STC Warriers convincingly defeated STC Panthers by 12-3. Immortals prevailed over STC Warriors by 15-10. Golden Titoms edged out Parade Ballers by 14-10, while Katra dominated RBC by 20-7. Police Line narrowly beat APS Kaluchak by 11-10. Udhampur won a close game against Timberwolves by 15-14. STC Warriors beat STC Hoopers by 12-9. Katra defeated STC Panthers by 10-3. Immortals edged Parade Ballers by 8-6. STC Terriers overcame Court Conquerors by 20-13. One match involving RBC and STC Warriors is still pending.
