Indore: Online Gambling Racket Busted; Six Arrested For Duping People Through Online Gaming From Rented Flat

Indore (Madhya Pradesh): In a major crackdown, six men were arrested from a rented flat near Bombay Hospital on charges of running an online gambling and cheating racket under the guise of gaming websites. The arrest was made by a joint team of Lasudia and Vijay Nagar police, following a tip-off received by ACP (Vijay Nagar) Aditya Patle.

According to ACP Patle, information was received that some individuals were involved in duping people through online gambling in a rented flat under Lasudia police station jurisdiction. A special team was immediately formed under his leadership. The team included Lasudia TI Taresh Soni and police personnel from both Lasudia and Vijay Nagar police stations.

The team raided Flat No. 201 of a building near Bombay Hospital, where six accused were found operating the racket. They were allegedly collecting money through various bank accounts in exchange for providing access to online games on multiple mobile phones and tablets.

During the raid, police recovered a significant quantity of digital and financial evidence, including 35 mobile phones, 51 SIM cards, six tablets, seven ATM/debit cards, three bank passbooks, Rs 12,940 in cash, four chargers and one extension board.

The accused have been identified as: Arpit Kesharwani, Rahul Rajak, Shubham Jaiswal and Aniket Patel - all residents of Jabalpur; Ajay Jaiswal of Mauganj and Amit Gautam of Rewa. All six were currently residing in the rented flat where the illegal activities were being conducted.

Police have registered a case against them under Sections 3 and 4 of the Public Gambling Act and Section 318(4) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS). Further investigation is underway to identify more people involved and to trace the flow of money.
