2 teens drown in Ghaggar river near Panchkula

Two children reportedly drowned in the Ghaggar river, Panchkula, and their bodies were found on Tuesday morning. The tragedy occurred on Monday evening when three to four teenagers went together to take a dip in the Ghaggar.

An FIR was registered at the Mauli Jagran Police Station for two missing teenagers, aged 13 and 15, around 11:30 p.m. on Monday.

While the police searched the area, they were unaware of the actual cause. Later, one teenager disclosed to his parents that they had gone for a swim and two of them had gone missing in the river.

Upon receiving the information, police teams from the Chandimandir police station, Sector 5, and the Panchkula crime team, along with personnel from the Chandigarh Police, rushed to the scene. The police found the bodies this morning and sent them for postmortem.

Both teenagers were residents of Mauli Jagran, Chandigarh. An investigation is underway.
