4 suicides reported in Baddi-Barotiwala industrial belt

Four suicides have been reported in the Baddi-Barotiwala industrial belt since last evening, exposing the stress and strain faced by the youth who have come to work here.

Mangal Singh (25), a resident of Varanasi who was staying in a rented room in Bhatoli Kalan village, Barotiwala, was found hanging in his room last evening, according to Baddi Additional SP Ashok Verma. He had been living with his parents and was reportedly under stress due to his inability to find a suitable match for marriage. He was one of six siblings, all of whom were married. He told his father to leave the room, saying he wanted to change clothes, but ended up hanging himself using a piece of cloth.

In another case, Arjun, a resident of Azamgarh in Uttar Pradesh and an employee at a factory in Kotla village, Barotiwala, committed suicide by hanging himself in his room this morning. He was staying with his wife and children in the factory colony. His body was discovered by neighbors who broke open the door upon noticing something suspicious.

Akshay Kumar (30), a resident of Kangra and a security guard in Baddi, also ended his life by hanging himself from a ceiling fan in his room last evening. He was reportedly under stress, which may have led him to take this extreme step.

In a separate incident, Tulender Kumar (36), a migrant from Yamunanagar, was found hanging in his rented room in Nela Khera village today. Upon receiving the information, Manpura police arrived at the scene and determined that he had taken the drastic step due to a family feud.
