‘Sarkar Gaon ke Dwar’ brings services to remote Kinnaur

Revenue, Horticulture, Tribal Development and Public Grievances Minister Jagat Singh Negi presided over the ‘Sarkar Gaon Ke Dwar’ programme in Sangla, Kinnaur district. He announced that the state government will soon begin tourism activities in tribal and border regions such as Shipkila and Chitkul to boost the local economy.

Highlighting the government’s commitment to tribal development, Negi said Chief Minister Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu is working towards improving education and healthcare in remote areas. He added that sewerage projects in Sangla, Batseri, Rakchham, and Chitkul panchayats are underway and will soon be completed to support tourism.

Negi explained that the ‘Sarkar Gaon Ke Dwar’ initiative aims to spread awareness about government schemes and provide citizens with easy access to various services. “This programme is being conducted statewide, including in Kinnaur, to ensure timely redressal of public grievances and better service delivery,” he said.

During the event, the minister interacted with residents and addressed local issues. Of the 44 complaints received, 29 were resolved on the spot, while instructions were issued to relevant departments to address the remaining ones promptly.

A mega health camp organised by the Health Department provided free treatment and medication to around 110 individuals. The AYUSH Department also held a free medical camp benefiting 130 people. Various certificates and official documents were issued on-the-spot by the Revenue and other departments.

The programme showcased the government’s focus on grassroots governance, tribal upliftment, and integrated development of remote areas through tourism, healthcare and responsive administration.
